What a crock. As usual, you do something wrong in Memphis and get rewarded.

Hey Ford, your God is gonna hold you accountable, since the good people of Memphis sure as heck don't...

Storm...
I don't think the law says anything about cost-justifying the prosecution of criminal behavior. Its either criminal or not.

This verdict is cut and dried---------------no suspense here.

It just takes one to hang the jury. The FBI did such a poor job on the tapes by not postively tying the money to pay-offs. A reasonably good case could be (and was) made that the money was just a loan.

Out of the numerous trials, the FBI is batting 100% up to now. They could afford to lose one, and they will lose this one. It will not be re-tried. Is he guilty? probably so--------Will he be convicted? NO

Do you suppose Mr. Ford could have bought them all a new suit of clothes? What could be taking so long?

I have to wonder why the prosecutor doesn't ask him why he insists the bribes were a loan ... and, WHO did Ford think was loaning him money?

Oh, and did he approach ANYONE for a loan ... and, did ANYONE indicate they were lending him money?

You know ... most dumb people seem to think if they say the same thing often enough it becomes a "truth".

Methinks the prosecutor can "bust Ford's bubble gum" pretty easily ... and, having him stuttering & stammering like the fool he is.

Way too much jam on ole Eddie's face.

"Mrs. Ford says they did not need to lease a car, that they could have bought it and originally thought they were buying the car. At this point, Mr. Ford shakes his head agreeing with his wife.

Mr. Ford just took a deep breath and is tearing up a little, wiping his eyes."
===============

Gee George, I don't think I'll make it through the day without getting more Kleenex®.

Sooo, they could have bought the Caddy, eh?? With what?

He can't pay his rent, he can't pay his auto lease and he can't pay his utilities ... but, they could have bought the car, and "thought" they were buying it.

Do you believe this crap??? I know most of the jury won't buy it.
=================================
From George: I wouldn't be so sure. Myrna Ford is an excellent witness from a credibility and demeanor point of view and even the prosecution admits she has good credit. That being said, several people have said they wished people would just drop off money for them when they needed it.

Mrs Ford has been moved around so much, because the prosecutors are sooo afraid she will talk to someone. I'm sure Mr. Ford got upset when he saw you talking to her.
